KESSA is a 501(c)(3) entity. This means we rely on the support of our generous community to fund enriching educational programs and support students participating in our professional events. Our students’ members are in various colleges pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees in STEM, Social sciences, the arts, music, artificial intelligence and machine learning among others. All sponsors and donors will be acknowledged at the KESSA Conference 2026. The prospectus can be downloaded below.

KESSA’s Greatest Needs
Our students have been affected by cuts to federal funding that underpin various university programs. We are increasingly getting requests to provide supplementary support to help students complete their studies. Unrestricted funds give KESSA flexibility to allocate money where it is most needed.
Mentoring and Networking Events
We are working to ensure that all students have access to professional networking and mentoring opportunities that inform their perspectives and expand their horizons.

Students Scholarships
We provide students with travel grants which allow them to participate in our annual conference. Our Annual conference includes student-focused sessions where students receive guidance and feedback on the art and science of communicating academic work to audiences from different backgrounds.
