Founded in 2008, KESSA is a scholarly association that draws its membership from across the globe. KESSA is a U.S. Federal tax-exempt nonprofit association registered in the State of Ohio, USA. KESSA members are drawn from academia and industry across the globe and are actively engaged in scholarship and/or research. Select research publications by KESSA members can be found at Recent Research Publications by KESSA members and a sample of books authored by KESSA Scholars can be found at KESSA Books’ Authors. KESSA activities culminate in an annual conference typically in early September. Previous conference information can be reviewed at Past Conferences. We work in collaboration with other scholars’ organizations such as Kenya Students in Diaspora (KESID) and Kenya Scientists in Diaspora (KESNET) among others.

Our mission includes:
- To promote scholarly, scientific and research work in/on Kenya in all scholarly disciplines and persuasions.

- To encourage and facilitate the dissemination of information, publications, and other scholarly works on Kenya.
- To raise funds in support of the foregoing activities.
